With the lads playing their game a day earlier than everyone else and thankfully winning, albeit a mighty bit fortunate, it is nice to have a day off to enjoy the glorious weather ..
100% start by the lads is tremendous, however the boys know they are not firing at all cylinders..Like last season it took a few games before the manager found his best formula..
Not far off i reckon, back four looks solid with Mark behind them. Midfield is lacking the bite and as a result the lads arent clicking into gear .. But it will come .. Hicky is providing us with the goals .. so all in all there will be better things to come ... lets get behind the lads, sometimes we might not know what the managers` thinking is and sometimes it might not work, while other times it will ...
What of our rivals ?
Let us know ... post a comment ..

What hopes do you have for the season
Remember please come forward and write about your team, or your son or daughter ...
Lets hear about your team, your son or daughter, that wonder goal, that brilliant save ..

At last the big kick off is here !
Well, the time has come for the real league to commence . Our Galaticos have had a good pre season and Mick, John and Neil have been working hard to have the boys primed for action.. Promoted Bilbrook are our opponents tomorrow .. never an easy match against the unknown ..
But hopefully Cot Lane will become Fortress Lane

1 week to go to the big kick off ..
Well, the wasps are in the middle of a busy pre season schedule, which will hopefully have them buzzing right from the off ....
A trip to Wythall to play Kings Heath Cocorde is to be followed with a game on tuesday against our old friends and adversaries Kiddy Lions ... things appear to be progressing well, but Wasps wouldnt be wasps without some last minute little hiccups ...
I hope the boys use the game to their benefit, and as long as we can ALL get behind the squad as one and support `Teflon` Mick and the chaps then plenty of success and fun will be had ..
I wont mention whats happening in the big world of football other than, Come on youuuuuuu Wollllvvesss !! tee hee .. I know its a marathon not a sprint ...

Just 3 weeks to go to the new SDYFL Season
Well this weekend saw the opening fixtures of the premiership .. Could be a long one for Stoke whilst the usual protagonists trying to take the crown form Man u opened their accounts with a win .... Have Wolves the consistency to make a challenge for promotion
Meanwhile the real business of the SDYFL Season still has 3 weeks to start. I am sure there are friendlies aplenty scheduled between now and the opening day as teams brace themselves for the challenges that lie ahead ... Why not let me know how things are going ? Any nuggets been found
Wordsley Wasps are shaping quite nicely as the manager bloods new talent into the scheme of things ... However, in the last two training sessions the closing match has been decided by dodgy keeping of the highest order ..... the manager with his teflon hands conceding victory !!

SDYFL Junior Football League 2008/09
Hello everyone, thanks for looking in ..
August is just around the corner and as such it is a time where many teams throughout the SDYFL are busy recruiting new players to bolster / improve / strengthen existing squads. There may not be the comings or goings of a Gareth Barry or the 'is he / isnt he' nonsense of Ronaldo. Nevertheless, I am sure there are teams who have strenghtened and are optimistic and cant wait for the new season to start, whilst there are other teams who are a little sceptical, as they chase around trying to recruit. Keep persevering !
In this my first blog, to set the ball rolling, let me put to you all some thoughts / questions ...
1. The new season always starts on a level playing field, however what are your hopes for the new season both for your son / daughter & Team.
2. With the rising costs of fuel, have you discussed ways to reduce costs by shortening those convoys to away games, the twice weekly training ... I remember one away game last season there must have been 9 or 10 cars in one convoy ( and we were playing a local derby !!) ...
3. Who do you think will do well in your division, who are you looking forward to play.
4. As a manager / coach player / parent what are you looking for ... better referreeing, more respect for the referrees, is sportsmanship an issue, do you feel its too competitive
Please feel free to air your views,
I look forward to hearing from you
